INDIANAPOLIS -- USA Gymnastics is making a change at the top of its mens national team program following a second straight fifth-place showing in the Olympics.USA Gymnastics president Steve Penny announced Thursday that national team coordinator Kevin Mazeikas contract wont be renewed. Penny said the organization will hire a hire performance director that will focus on sustained international success. The position will be based at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and will report to vice president of mens gymnastics Dennis McIntyre.Mazeika served as head coach when the Americans won silver in Athens at the 2004 Olympics and bronze in Beijing in 2008 before being promoted to national team coordinator in 2009.The U.S. has not medaled in the team portion in either of the last two Olympics, though Danell Leyva earned an all-around bronze in 2012 and added silvers on parallel bars and high bar in Rio de Janeiro in August.
