MONACO -- Russia will stay stuck in track and fields doghouse, its athletes banned from competing under their own flag, until February at the earliest. In his latest update on Russian anti-doping efforts, Rune Andersen said on Thursday there has been progress but that his taskforce which is monitoring the situation for the IAAF is not yet ready to give Russia a clean bill of health. The taskforce wants to return to Moscow in January, and also is waiting for a report next week that is expected to detail how Russian authorities subverted drug testing at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, the Norwegian anti-doping expert said.RUSAF, the Russian Athletics Federation, has been suspended by the IAAF since November 2015, after a damning World Anti-Doping Agency-commissioned report detailed the deep-rooted culture of doping and deception in Russian sports. To lift the ban, Russia must satisfy a list of IAAF requirements.Andersen said he told an IAAF council meeting in Monaco this week that RUSAF has made further progress toward satisfying the reinstatement conditions. But he added he would be reporting back to the IAAF at its next council meeting in February -- effectively delaying until then, at the earliest, a recommendation on whether Russia has done enough for the IAAF to consider allowing Russian athletes to compete again. After a tumultuous year dominated by the Russian doping crisis and revelations of suspected corruption and doping cover-ups under his predecessor Lamine Diack, IAAF President Sebastian Coe wants to turn a corner this weekend with the hoped-for adoption of broad changes to the way the athletics body handles doping cases and governs itself. He proposes giving athletes and women a greater say in IAAF affairs, and says the punishment of doping cases should be speeded up by his plan to hand them over to a new integrity unit that will be largely independent of the governing body.I do not want this sport to ever return to the grotesque stories that, even over the last few days, we have been waking up to, Coe said.A special IAAF Congress will vote on Saturday on the reforms that Coe has championed. This is a moment to be bold, he said. Clean athletes have to know that we are in their corner. One new IAAF initiative, the opening this week of an online page for people to anonymously blow the whistle on doping, made an immediate impact, according to Coe. He said it received 14 leads in the first 12 hours, and 43 leads in the first two days.A remaining obstacle to Russias reinstatement is convincing Andersens taskforce that anti-doping officers will be allowed to do their work there. Andersen said they want drug testing that is not being tainted and is independent, autonomous and without interference from anybody inside Russia. The taskforce hopes by February to be able to identify a clear roadmap and timetable for RUSAFs reinstatement, Andersen said.Coe maintained that Russian attitudes are changing toward the countrys long-standing doping problem. He said such progress would almost certainly not have occurred had the IAAF not banned Russia, which pressured its leaders to act.The only Russian who competed in athletics at the Rio Olympics was long jumper Darya Klishina. She was accepted under IAAF rules because she was based in the U.S. for several years, away from the Russian drug-testing system and its officials and lab staff accused of covering up hundreds of failed tests. There is a shift of view, Coe said. This would not have taken place had we not taken the tough decision we did last year.Nate Schmidt Golden Knights Jersey . Then Daniel poured maple syrup all over himself and there was no turning back.Major storylinesSo many thoughts -- and concerns -- but all of them lead back to one lethal word: Chad.Hurricane Chad hit really, really, really hard Tuesday night. We were first reintroduced to our antagonist prior to his arrival in Mexico. The Chad Bear took a brief moment to explain what hes been up to since his dismissal from The Bachelorette -- hanging with his dog -- then proceeded to reiterate that America had a misconception of him on Jojos season, and finished his spiel by informing us that he does consider himself to be a romantic person. ... Okay.?Upon making his grand entrance on the beach, he quipped: Me, Daniel, roses, alcohol, girls ... what could possibly go wrong?Oh my ominous.Shortly after, Chad met Lace -- whose crazy matches his own -- and thus it was only a matter of time before they started making out and play-fighting (or maybe real fighting?) in the hot tub.(Brief aside: Remember when Lace yelled at Ben on his season of The Bachelor for failing to make eye contact with her during the rose ceremony? Im just saying, this Chad-Lace union could have serious potential.)However, the new couples wild bliss was short-lived, even by BIP standards, and ended in Chad hurling slurred insults her way ... then maybe, accidentally, soiling his swim trunks, because #BachelorInParadise. The episode came to a close the following morning with host Chris Harrison asking Chad to leave paradise. Chad then turned on Harrison and began yelling at him for reportedly drinking mimosas in a robe while watching the show from his hotel room ... yeaah, it was tough to follow.ddddddddddddBut the important takeaway here was that The Chad got kicked off the show.?Hook ups and budding romancesChad and LaceJared and Jubilee (Disclaimer: Keep an eye on the twins; one of them confessed she is also vying for his affections.)Nick and Amanda (The preview for next week showed a Josh Murray arrival that is primed to end this union before it begins.)Vinny and Izzy?Break upsChad and LaceLoser of the weekThe award goes to Daniel for being wildly offensive. Chads right-hand-man from Jojos season could possibly be even as offensive as Chad himself. Here is a sampling of his quotes from the episode:I was hoping for some good-looking girls. So far Im not impressed. So far these are just Poodles and Yorkies. Street dogs.?Lets rate girls. I love rating girls.?Hopefully theres some better fresh fruit that comes in ... so far the fruit thats here looks like its been bruised in transportation.?Hey Daniel, take a lap ... or five.?Winner(s) of the weekSarah. After hearing The Chad spew?misogynistic word vomit at Lace, she clapped back saying: The way youre talking about women is so disrespectful. I want nothing to do with it. Nothing.?In a franchise where feminist moments are few and far between, Sarah made it clear that the women of Season 3 arent buying the sexist garbage.Bye Chad, you can go shave your back now (Regina George voice).?The Twins. Apparently Emily and Hayley have some magical package deal immunity that allows them both to come back if one of them is given a rose. So while the lack of recognition for them as individuals is disturbing, they do seem to have an obvious advantage over the rest of the competition. From the look of the preview, Episode 2 is going to be a juicy one. So remember to check back next week for further analysis from paradise. ' ' '
