BOSTON -- The Montreal Canadiens are already off to a strong start. It doesnt hurt that they have star goaltender Carey Price getting some early season rust off now, too.Price stopped 19 shots in his second start, and Brendan Gallagher and Phillip Danault each had second-period goals Saturday night to lift the Canadiens to a 4-2 win over the Boston Bruins.Price, playing just his second game after a bout with the flu at the start of the season, missed most of last season with a right knee injury. He won his season debut, stopping 27 shots against Arizona on Thursday. Its always good to get minutes in, good quality minutes, Price said. The guys are playing really well defensively in front of me, and everybodys rolling right now. Its fun to watch.Torrey Mitchell and Paul Byron also scored for Montreal, which has not lost in regulation through its first five games (4-0-1). Byrons goal was short-handed.Dominic Moore and Ryan Spooner scored for Boston, which is winless in its last nine games at home against its longtime rivals. Backup goalie Anton Khudobin made 25 saves.I dont like to lose, Khudobin said after falling to 0-2 this season. Its the worst feeling, I would say. I understand maybe youre not going to win all games, but Im trying and its just a bad feeling when youre losing.Gallagher had a simple explanation why the Canadiens feel so comfortable in Boston lately. Its a fun place to play, he said. I think everyone gets excited when the fans are on you. It makes for a good atmosphere.Boston center Patrice Bergeron said the Bruins made too many mistakes. We didnt make the easy plays too many times, he said. When you do that, it creates turnovers and you spend more time in your zone than youd like to.Bruins starting goalie Tuukka Rask was out with an undisclosed injury that didnt appear serious. Coach Claude Julien said before the game: Were going to shut him off and give him another days rest at least.Boston pulled its goalie with just under three minutes to play, and had a power play for all of the final two minutes. The Canadiens had two players in the box for the final 56 seconds. After a scoreless first period that saw Montreal hold a 13-6 edge in shots on goal, the Canadiens jumped ahead 1-0 midway into the second on Gallaghers goal. He took a pass from Max Pacioretty and one-timed a shot from the right circle that slipped into the net just inside the left post.Montreal made it 2-0 late in the period when Danault took Alexander Radulovs cross-ice pass and slipped a short wrist shot over Khudobins right shoulder.Moores score came on Bostons first shot of the third when he worked a give-and-go with Tim Schaller before slipping a wrister past Price from the slot, but Byron scored on a breakaway just less than two minutes later. But, still on the power play, Spooner scored with just less than 13 minutes remaining in regulation.Mitchell scored an unassisted goal, stealing the puck near the faceoff circle and slapping it one-handed into the net. He was high-sticked by David Krejci for a penalty right after the puck went into the net.Game notes The Bruins continued to struggle with their power play, failing in their first three tries to go 1 for 17 on the season before Spooners goal. ... North Queensland coach Paul Green has turned up the heat on the whistleblowers ahead of Fridays NRL grand final qualifier, accusing Cronulla of abusing the 10 metres all year.Green backed Canberra mentor Ricky Stuarts stinging criticism of the Sharks, saying they were serial offenders when it came to jumping out early.Stuart on Wednesday fired a shot at the Sharks following their finals week one loss to Shane Flanagans side, accusing them of only standing back eight metres and wrestling the crap out of us on the ground.Flanagan on Thursday fired back, saying Stuart was just trying to influence the referees ahead of his sides preliminary final against Melbourne on Saturday night. However Stuart has received support from Green, who approached NRL referees boss Tony Archer after his sides last encounter with the Sharks to address concerns Cronulla were allowed to get away with too much in the ruck. The last game we played against (the Sharks) there was only three points in it and gee they were pretty quick out of the blocks that night, Green said.Following that I spoke to the referees about the 10 metres in particular and (Archer) probably felt the refs should have been a bit stronger on the 10 theree.ddddddddddddIm just hoping that they police that properly again because I think itll give us a good open game of footy that everyones going to enjoy.Flanagan was unfazed by Stuarts attack on his clubs playing style, believing his Canberra counterpart was only using the Sharks as a means to help his sides cause against Melbourne. For me its just a tactic of Sticky to put the referees on notice, Flanagan told Sky Sports Radios Big Sports Breakfast.Ricky doesnt want to talk about Melbournes wrestle so hes brought someone else up and just stated the point that he wants an open and care-free sort of game, not to be made about the wrestle on the ground.Melbourne have been at the centre of a wrestling controversy throughout this months finals campaign.North Queensland reportedly voiced their concern to the NRL after their first-week finals loss in Melbourne, during which Ethan Lowe suffered a season-ending neck injury. However the Storm have been adamant theyre doing nothing wrong and say they received assurances from the NRL there is no issue with their tackling technique.
