Graeme Souness has hailed Rangers manager Mark Warburton for the job he has done in helping the club gain promotion to the Scottish Premiership. The Englishman inherited a demoralised squad after Rangers promotion bid crumbled 12 months ago but he has quickly turned the clubs fortunes around and helped them clinch the Championship crown last week. The Gers won the Petrofac Training Cup on Sunday and head into this weekends William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final with Celtic on a high - a game you can watch live on Sky Sports 2 HD from 11.00am on Sunday. Souness is credited with revitalising Rangers when he took over as player/manager in 1986.The former Liverpool midfielder helped attract big-name signings from England such as Terry Butcher, Graham Roberts and Chris Woods, and laid the foundations for the nine successive titles they won from 1989.However, the landscape of Scottish football is much changed in the years since and Souness believes his challenge was much easier than the one which greeted Warburton when he arrived last summer. Rangers players celebrate beating Peterhead at Hampden Souness said: Hes had a far more difficult job than I had. There were so many things that worked in our favour at the time, such as the problems English football had.We could match any one of the English team for their spending power. English teams were banned from Europe, so we had lots of things going for us. That job was a lot easier for me that it was for Mark taking over at Rangers this time.I think he deserves a great deal of credit. I dont know the guy but I sat next to him at Wembley for the Norwich-Middlesbrough play-off game. I spent maybe 10 minutes talking to him but found him to be a very impressive, calm, nice human being. Hes done a great job. Celtic manager Ronny Deila Sundays clash with Celtic at Hampden marks Warburtons first taste of a Glasgow derby but he has been keen to play down the games significance in the build-up.When told Warburton referred to Sundays game as just another match, Souness said: Really? Well it certainly isnt. Its the biggest derby Ive been involved in.The Liverpool-Everton one is a friendly derby. The Galatasaray one with Fenerbahce is a big game but it still doesnt come near this one. Leigh Griffiths scores in Celtics previous meeting with Rangers last season Nothing prepared me for the passion and the enormity of this job. A lot of the enormity is in your own mind because you feed off the passion your supporters have for your football club. You absorb that and start to feel guilty when youve not done the best for them.So Mark must feel that. Hes been here long enough to realise what these two clubs mean to their supporters. Its greater here than anywhere else. And thats why its not just another derby.Celtic are currently eight points clear at the summit of the Scottish Premiership and on course to clinch their fifth successive title, but Souness predicts Rangers will give Ronny Deilas side a much closer examination than they managed in last years League Cup semi-final. Graeme Souness led Rangers to glory on and off the park Then a Gers team led by caretaker boss Kenny McDowall seemed relieved to escape Hampden after suffering just a 2-0 defeat.Celtic obviously start as the big favourites, Souness said at a press conference promoting Sundays semi-final.They play in the top league. The challenge for Rangers is to turn up and make a game of it. They didnt do that last year. Its the biggest derby Ive been involved in. The Liverpool-Everton one is a friendly derby. The Galatasaray one with Fenerbahce is a big game but it still doesnt come near this one. Graeme Souness Anything can happen in derbies but Celtic must start as the outstanding favourites. I want Rangers to do themselves justice.I would hope it would be closer this time. Rangers are better than they were last year. Are Celtic? Im not sure. Rangers certainly are but I dont think that means they are going to turn up and have an easy game.It will be difficult because Celtic are used to playing against better players every week, they are used to moving the ball quicker, having a quicker thought process. But its a derby game and Rangers have a big chance. This is not a foregone conclusion.Watch the Glasgow derby on Sky Sports 2 HD from 11am this Sunday.By purchasing a Sky Sports Day Pass for £6.99 or Sky Sports Week Pass for £10.99, you can enjoy access to all seven Sky Sports channels and watch on a TV with a NOW TV Box or on a range of devices. That is, until James Miller grabbed the spotlight. Wearing a parachute with a propeller attached, Miller glided from the sky above and into the ring area at Caesars palace during the second minute of the seventh round. The lines on his paraglider became tangled in the overhead lights, dropping him down at ringside and into the crowd of spectators. With ruly boxing fans and security detail swarming him almost immediately, Miller was knocked unconscious before being sent to hospital where he was charged with dangerous flying. The Candidates (5): Jeffrey Maier - Game 1 of the 1996 ALCS between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles and the Orioles were up 4-2 at the bottom of the eighth. Maier, 11, caught a Derek Jeter hit over the rails at the left centre field stands at Yankee Stadium. The umpires ruled it to be a home run instead of fan interference and New York would go on to win the game and the series. Steve Bartman - Another eighth inning incident - this time in the 2003 NLCS between the Cubs and Marlins. With Chicago up 3–2 in the series and 3-0 in Game 6, some fans attempted to catch a foul ball off the bat of Marlins second baseman Luis Castillo. Lifelong Cubs fan Steve Bartman reached for the baall, stopping a potential catch and second out by Cubs outfielder Moises Alou.dddddddddddd The Cubs ended up surrendering eight runs in the inning and lost the game, 8-3. They then lost Game 7, which many Cubs fans say was kickstarted by Bartman. Pummeled Nordiques fan - No controversy here, just an old fashioned beatdown. In a home game against the Quebec Nordiques in 1992, Buffalo Sabres forward Rob Ray beat up a Nordiques fan who had snuck onto the ice and approached the bench. That was one brave (maybe not so bright) guy. Philly fan with Tie Domi - Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi wrestled with a spectator who jumped from the second row and landed on the glass separating the box from the crowd during the Leafs games against the Philadelphia Flyers at First Union Center. Domi, who had just been penalized early in the third period, twice poured water over taunting fans in the front row before the attacking fan, Chris Falcone, jumped in and landed on the glass. Falcone leaned into it while throwing a punch at Domi. He then fell into the box as Domi grabbed him. The Saddledome Streaker - Wearing only a pair of red socks at a game between the Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins, a fan scaled the glass near the penalty box during a stoppage in play and just over five minutes left in the game. He then slipped when his feet touched the ice and landed hard on his back and head, knocking himself unconscious. After a delay of six minutes, he was removed on a stretcher to a huge ovation from the Pengrowth Saddledome crowd. Watch SportsCentre at 6pm et/3pm pt for the Top 10 most memorable fans.
